Cooperation

Lithuanian School Students' Union (LMS)

Last year, we signed a cooperation agreement to implement a project administered by the State Studies Foundation aimed at developing the social dimension in higher education. LMS Board Member Kamilė Draudvilaitė led a session during the training organized by VU SR for ambassadors of social dimension development, led an activity on presenting materials to students and provided other useful advice, which later proved helpful to VU SR ambassadors in conducting sessions at regional schools.

During a meeting with LMS Board Member Tėja Lukošiūtė, we discussed current issues in the field of education regarding the mandatory state mathematics exam and the development of the social dimension in higher education.

Lithuanian Youth Council and Lithuanian National Union of Students

Together with Lithuanian Youth Council and Lithuanian Students Union, we signed a letter regarding the draft Law on Lithuanian National Radio and Television of the Republic of Lithuania. We also jointly organized a public mourning and rally in front of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, which received significant attention from the public and the media.

We also held several meetings with Lithuanian Youth Council President Umberto Masi regarding current issues and potential cooperation between our organizations.

Other Student Representations

We met with the President of the Student Representation at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre to share best practices regarding the activities of student councils and the challenges faced by students. Since students at both VU and LMTA can take elective courses (modules) from their respective institutions, we agreed to collect feedback to improve our collaboration.

The Social Process Coordinator held a video call with representatives of KTU SA, during which she shared VU SR’s experience in sustainability-related activities (including organized initiatives, their success, and the organization’s future plans).

The Integration Process Coordinator met with the LSMU SA Curator Coordinators to discuss and share best practices regarding the curator program, including how curators are selected and trained, and how to retain them throughout the year.

In collaboration with VDU SA, representatives from VU SR participated in a couple of training sessions organized by VDU SA, during which they shared their experiences on representation topics and led activities as guest lecturers.

Vilnius Youth Organizations Union - Roundtable (VJOSAS)

During the reporting period, we held three separate meetings with representatives of VJOSAS. During the meetings, we shared our expectations for the umbrella organization and its activities, and raised issues related to the city of Vilnius that need to be addressed, such as public transportation, bicycle infrastructure, compensation for housing rental costs, the integration of international students, and others.

We also participated in leadership clubs organized by VJOSAS and in two Assemblies, where the organization’s annual activity and financial reports were approved, and representatives were elected to various governing bodies.
